April is a Board-Certified Master Esthetician with 17 years’ experience. She started her medical career working as a Medical Assistant for the Department of Cardiology at the Lahey Clinic Hospital for over ten years. It was during that time when she learned how to treat and care for people in need. But, because she had a passion for skin health, she decided to merge her medical career with her love for aesthetics.
April graduated from The Elizabeth Grady School of Esthetics and Make-Up Artistry, where she mastered the foundation and fundamentals of proper skin care. From there, she decided to venture out and join the world of Ayurvedic Medicine. In this realm, she discovered the connection between the mind, body, and skin through aromatherapy, and Chakra energy trigger points. After learning these techniques, she discovered that the skin follows suit when the mind and body are aligned. She then moved on and studied at the Aveda Institute of Ayurvedic Medicine in Soho, NY analyzing the theory of ingredient science. This program was centered around the beneficial and harmful components of the top ingredients. She reached her goal and became an ingredient expert, to fully understand formulas and the efficacy of ingredients.
After years of working in the profession, she extended her education at The Catherine Hinds Institute of Esthetics, where she completed the medically focused Master Esthetic Program. She studied all profiles of skin ailments, such as skin cancer, adolescent and adult acne, rosacea and so much more. She made sure to understand the treatments, but more importantly, the causes. Since then, she has worked with Plastic Surgeons and Med Spas covering her passion and experience toward skin health as far as she could.
In addition to owning and operating Awaken Aesthetics, April teaches Advanced Aesthetics at the popular Advanced Education Academy, Stonhart, located in Woburn, MA. She continues to attend trainings, and webinars to discover and learn the most modern modalities and products. April is a proud member of the HydraFacial Community of Education and Training. Her goal is to provide the relaxing benefits of a facial while achieving desired results. She feels that although results are the basis of the skincare industry, it's extremely important to provide a place where you can re-center and awaken your mind, body, and soul.
Aside of her career, she loves spending time with her husband Pasquale and two children, Valentina and Nico.
April is First Aid/CPR/AED Certified through the American Red Cross and a proud member of Associated Skin Care Professionals (ASCP) , Aesthetic International Association (AIA) and National Coalition of Estheticians Association (NCEA).
